Since 2021, and on a much larger scale since 2025, the Foundation has invested a significant share of its assets in the House of Future Generations, which is home to the Foundation's headquarters as well as the KOTs de Demain, Namur's first inter-institutional student community project.
Heritage Preservation
The renovation covers a group of buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th century which, as discovered during the works, rests against the wall of Namur's third fortified enclosure, dating back to the 13th century!
The renovation was designed to preserve the site's heritage while creating a modern and welcoming space:
- An atrium created in a former inner courtyard
- An 18th-century vaulted room protected from flooding
- A dedicated space showcasing the site's archaeological heritage from the 13th to the 17th century
Rushing to the site, archaeologists uncovered pottery shards, Dutch oyster shells, shoe soles... Based on historical records, there was little doubt: the excavator tracks were right in the middle of the moat that once surrounded the city's third fortified enclosure. Bringing in the archaeologists allowed us to uncover a number of pieces of this vast puzzle.

Sustainable Renovation
A renovation true to our DNA, looking to the future without overlooking our past.
- A retractable glass roof creating a tree-filled atrium open to the sky, while remaining insulated for year-round use
- A large number of photovoltaic panels to be installed
- Rainwater harvesting: a rainwater tank and a flood-control buffer tank
- Heat pumps for 100% of the renovated buildings and the atrium (zero-CO2 heating)

A Very Concrete Commitment
Objectives:
- We aim to raise €500,000 from philanthropists who will become members of the House of Future Generations Support Committee. Members commit between €10,000 and €100,000.
- The funds raised by the Support Committee will be allocated to a "Property Support Fund", which the Foundation will use to develop and support the House of Future Generations project.

"KOTs de Demain" Student Community Project
Study, live, create: towards a responsible future
On 15 September 2025, the Pôle académique de Namur, in collaboration with the Foundation for Future Generations, launched a unique initiative: KOTs de Demain, Namur's first inter-institutional student community project.
Since the start of the 2025-2026 academic year, ten eco-built and fully equipped student accommodations on rue de l'Arsenal have welcomed students from different higher education institutions across the province of Namur.
KOTs de Demain: What Are They?
The KOTs are eco-built and fully equipped student accommodations that serve as a base for concrete projects related to the ecological and social transition in Namur. The residents organise events, workshops and initiatives to raise awareness and engage the student community around sustainable development.
Why launch KOTs de Demain?
Designed as a true laboratory for the transition, KOTs de Demain combine comfortable living, team spirit and civic engagement. They give students in Namur the opportunity to play an active role in society while developing valuable skills for their personal and professional future.
Through this project, the Namur Academic Cluster and the Foundation for Future Generations are creating a unique living environment that reflects the Foundation's mission: to foster the emergence of concrete, sustainable solutions driven by young people.
The project is fully aligned with the Foundation's values, as Benoît Derenne, Director of the Foundation, explains in a Boukè news report: "The challenges of tomorrow are extremely important. We want to place our trust in young people and give them the opportunity to address these challenges, and of course to come up with innovative, creative and transformative solutions."

KOTs de Demain are open to all higher education students in Namur who are committed to building a sustainable future.

Objectifs:

Nous cherchons à réunir 500.000 € de la part de mécènes, futurs membres du Comité de soutien de la Maison des Générations Futures. Ceux-ci s’engagent pour des montants compris entre 10.000 et 100.000 €.

L’argent réuni par le Comité de Soutien sera versé dans un « Fonds de soutien immobilier » dans lequel la Fondation puisera pour développer et soutenir le projet de Maison des Générations Futures
