On 10 September, the Foundation for Future Generations was delighted to host the fifth annual gathering of HERA programme partners, this time at its newly renovated premises in Namur. An evening dedicated to exchanging ideas, making connections and discovering new perspectives.

The programme included a review of the 2026 HERA Awards and a look at the programme's future prospects, as well as updates from our partners and donors. Thomas Canon (IBA) and Cécile Neven, Walloon Minister for Energy, the Air and Climate Plan, Housing and Airports, were among the speakers. The evening also provided an opportunity to introduce the Food As Medicine Foundation, a new partner of the HERA programme.

Partners then had the opportunity to discover and discuss four award-winning master's theses from the 2026 HERA Awards, presented by Louise Lemineur, Lisa Quertinmont, Lionel Delchambre and Julien Beauvois. Covering a wide range of topics, from regenerative businesses and planetary health to electricity grids and European policies, these research projects illustrate the diversity of research highlighted by the HERA Awards.

The evening continued with a walking dinner, offering everyone the opportunity to carry on conversations in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

A big thank you to our partners and donors, the speakers and award winners for their presence and valuable contributions, as well as to Minister Cécile Neven, who honoured us with her participation in the evening.

Together, let's continue to strengthen the HERA Awards and shine a light on a new generation of research contributing to a more sustainable future!
